The Challenge for ista
As a member of the UN Global Compact network, ista is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030. At the same time, regulatory requirements are pushing the company toward sustainable business practices. To comply with current and future ESG regulations—such as the LkSG (German Supply Chain Act) and CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive)—ista needed one key thing: full transparency in its supply chain.
The Solution
ista set out to find a comprehensive supply chain management partner—and found it in VERSO. Since 2023, ista has been using the VERSO Supply Chain Hub as an automated solution for ESG-compliant supplier management and supply chain transparency.
To comply with the LkSG and due diligence obligations, ista first focused on conducting a risk analysis for its German operations. With the help of the Supply Chain Hub, ista assessed potential risks for 3,000 suppliers. Where necessary, the company then collected specific supplier data through standardized assessments and extended location inquiries. The resulting overall risk profile was automatically mapped, giving ista a clear and structured overview of supplier risk profiles.
The Result
ista now has a solid data foundation for its LkSG reporting. The VERSO Supply Chain Hub enables continuous risk assessment and seamless supplier collaboration, allowing ista to implement and monitor future measures. The platform also ensures compliance with upcoming ESG regulations, particularly CSRD. Furthermore, enhanced supply chain transparency supports ista’s commitment to the UN Global Compact principles.

Following the successful implementation in Germany, ista is now rolling out the VERSO Supply Chain Hub across all international subsidiaries.
