GRI-certified: VERSO recognized as a software and content partner of the international standard

  • VERSO achieves GRI certification as one of only a few selected software solutions in Europe.
  • The leading global standard of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is seamlessly integrated into VERSO’s guidelines and ESG reporting solution.
  • This means that companies can not only prepare their sustainability report in accordance with CSRD and ESRS, but also in accordance with the international GRI standard with VERSO.

Munich, 08.02.2024 – VERSO, the sustainability software and service provider, has been officially certified by the demanding GRI standard. This means that VERSO not only meets the European requirements established by the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards), but also the internationally established GRI Index.

Andreas Maslo, CEO of VERSO, emphasizes: “We have been supporting companies with their sustainability reports since 2010. The GRI certification now also provides independent proof that our software and content meet the dynamic requirements of sustainability reporting: Not only with the European requirements, but also in an international context.”

Piers Horner, Head of the Licensing Program at GRI, explains: “GRI is committed to enabling any organization – large or small, private or public – to fully understand and report its impacts on the economy, environment and people in a comparable and credible way. We are delighted that VERSO, known for its pioneering work and tireless commitment to sustainability management, is joining our growing group of software and tool partners. VERSO plays a critical role in helping their clients make the best use of the GRI Standards to meet their sustainability reporting needs.”

About the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

The GRI is an independent organization that has formulated internationally recognized standards for sustainability reports. The standards are applicable across all industries and apply to organizations of all sizes and types, regardless of their location. The standards enable companies to present their social, ecological and economic impacts transparently. These include specific key figures on climate protection, energy consumption, employee rights, corporate governance and anti-corruption.

Complex licensing process ensures quality

VERSO’s licensing process took six months and included detailed checks and several feedback loops with the GRI. The extensive auditing process underlines the high criteria of the GRI and ensures that the sustainability standards of VERSO software meet all industry-specific and topic-related standards. Only six other ‘Software & Tools Partners’ are GRI-certified for German-speaking countries, and only three of these, like VERSO, are available in German.
