and this is what <a href=\"https:\/\/overshoot.footprintnetwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Earth Overshoot Day<\/a> stands for.<br \/>\nIn 2024, Earth Overshoot Day falls on August 1.<br \/>\nAll the natural resources that we humans are actually entitled to this year have been used up.<br \/>\nFrom this day onwards, we will be living at the expense of the future &#8211; for another 5 months.<br \/>\nA bitter day?<br \/>\nAbsolutely, there&#8217;s no denying it.<br \/>\nBut it doesn&#8217;t help to bury our heads in the sand.<br \/>\nLet&#8217;s use the day as a reminder: let&#8217;s act now and push Earth Overshoot Day as far back as possible!<br \/>\nFollowing the information about Earth Overshoot Day, this blog post therefore contains <a href=\"#tippressourcen\">three tips on how you can make your company&#8217;s resource management more sustainable<\/a>.<br \/>\nThese simple measures, which every company can implement, actively contribute to environmental and climate protection.               &nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Definition: What is Earth Overshoot Day?<\/h2>\n<p>  Earth Overshoot Day has been calculated since 1971.<br \/>\nIn German, it is also known as Earth Overshoot Day or World Exhaustion Day.<br \/>\nIt marks the date on which humanity&#8217;s demand for ecological resources and services in one year exceeds what the earth can regenerate in that year.<br \/>\nThis is how the WWF describes it, for example.<br \/>\nThe overshoot days are calculated globally and nationally &#8211; the total global consumption of resources is used or the consumption of a specific country is extrapolated to the global availability of resources.<br \/>\nThe calculations for the overshoot days are based on <a href=\"https:\/\/overshoot.footprintnetwork.org\/wie-funktioniert-der-okologische-fussabdruck-footprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the concept of the ecological footprint<\/a>.<br \/>\nIt describes the biologically productive area on earth that is necessary to enable a person&#8217;s lifestyle and standard of living.<br \/>\nIn short, it documents how much nature we have and how much we need.<br \/>\nEarth Overshoot Day is calculated by the Footprint Data Foundation, York University and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footprintnetwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Footprint Network<\/a>.        <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\t\n\n\n\n\t<section class=\"snk-section snk-section_slim\">\n\t\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"snk-banner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"snk-banner-text\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"snk-h3\">Why is sustainability important for your company?<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Sustainability is becoming increasingly important &#8211; Reduce, Reuse, Recycle<\/h3>\n<p>  One of the most effective methods for establishing sustainable resource management in a company is the circular economy.<br \/>\nIt starts with the big three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.<br \/>\nIt is about reducing the use of resources and materials, reusing products and reusing the materials from one product in another product.<br \/>\nOne approach is an internal recycling process in which production waste is collected, processed and reused.<br \/>\nThis can significantly reduce waste and thus the amount of raw materials required.<br \/>\nIn addition, recycled or bio-based materials can be ordered from suppliers.<br \/>\nResources can also be saved during shipping.<br \/>\nFor example, packaging that can be reused.<br \/>\nBut also in transport itself.<br \/>\nThere are special pooling systems for pallet cages and Euro pallets &#8211;
